Laurel House, a non-profit that provides support and education to domestic abuse victims and the community, is seeking a full-time Sales Associate for Marian’s Attic, our King of Prussia thrift shop. The culture of the shop reflects that of the larger organization - a supportive, collaborative and work environment of staff and volunteers who are committed to the mission of Laurel House.
 
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Cash register/balancing cash drawer at close of shift (in absence of manager).
  • Sort/tag/steam/stock merchandise.
  • General retail store/thrift store responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of clothing, shoe and accessory brands.
  • Research value of assorted donated items on the internet.
  • Excellent customer service and willingness to share with customer our mission.
  • Manage, recruit and train volunteers as needed.
  • Operate shop in the absence of the Manager.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Bend, stretch and stand on feet up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to carry and lift 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Background clearances (child abuse, State Police and FBI Fingerprint).
     
Hours/Benefits:
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work nights and/or weekends. The shop is open Monday through Saturday 10am to 5pm, with the exception of Thursday when the shop is open until 8pm.
  • The times of day and hours will vary, in accordance with the hours and staffing needs of the shop, and will be arranged by the Manager.
